Carnevale e Pasqua: matrimonio perfetto
Carnevale, Pasqua e Luna… tre facce della stessa medaglia?
A prima vista sembrano realtà lontane ed eterogenee fra loro, ma non è così.
Vediamo perché.
Il periodo del Carnevale viene calcolato sulla base della Pasqua.
Quest’ultima, festa mobile, può variare sul calendario fra il 22 marzo e il 25 aprile. Secondo quanto fu stabilito dal Concilio di Nicea del 325 d. C., la Pasqua cade la prima domenica successiva al Plenilunio di Primavera (ossia successivo all’Equinozio primaverile). Siccome devono intercorrere 46 giorni tra il mercoledì delle Ceneri (che è il giorno successivo al Martedì Grasso e fa calare il sipario sulle mascherine), e il già citato Martedì Grasso, ecco che la Pasqua e il Carnevale sono legate a filo doppio.
Naturalmente stiamo parlando del Carnevale Romano, quello Ambrosiano ha, come noto, tempistiche un po’ diverse.

At first glance they seem distant and heterogeneous realities between them, but it is not so.

The Carnival period is calculated based on Easter.
