Il Fetonte e il primo veicolo solare della storia?
Fetonte è il protagonista di una delle vicende più tragiche di tutta la mitologia greca.
Fetonte era il giovane figlio mortale del Dio-Sole. Un giorno si recò al palazzo per conoscere il padre e questi, per farsi perdonare di tutti gli anni in cui era stato lontano dal figlio, promise di soddisfare qualunque sua richiesta.
Fetonte allora non perse tempo e chiese immediatamente di poter guidare il Carro del Sole che attraversava, giorno dopo giorno, senza tregua e senza requie, il cielo dall’alba fino al tramonto (un veicolo solare in piena regola, dunque… in piena epoca antica e nel mondo greco, per giunta).
Il Dio protestò, ritenendo il figlio inadatto al compito, ma questi non volle sentire ragioni. Così, all’alba del giorno dopo, quando il sorse il giovane Fetonte partì. Subito i cavalli dorati del carro sentirono la differenza fra la mano salda del loro cocchiere abituale e quella di Fetonte, e così cambiarono direzione. Deviarono dalla strada maestra e cominciarono ad attraversare le costellazioni, sprofondando negli abissi del cielo. Persero l’orientamento e non ci fu bussola (moderna o antica come la pietra solare) in grado di trattenerli…

The first solar vehicle in history? (part I)
One of the most tragic events in all Greek mythology concerns Fetonte, the young mortal son of the Sun-God. One day he went to the palace to meet his father and he, to be forgiven for all the years he had been away from his son, promised to satisfy all his requests. Fetonte immediately asked to drive the Chariot of the Sun that crossed, day after day, the sky from dawn until sunset (a solar vehicle in full order, therefore …). The God protested, considering the child unfit for the task, but he did not want to hear reasons. Thus, at dawn the next day, when the young man rose, he left. Immediately the golden horses of the cart felt the difference between the firm hand of their usual coachman and that of Fetonte, and so they changed direction. They deviated from the usual step and began to cross the constellations, sinking into the depths of the sky.

Una est quod omnium est tristissimum certe totius mythologia Graeca Phaeton-sol cognovit tyrannum cum puer mortalis est filius Dei. Ad diem venit in domum patris sui hii sunt ad eum omnes filii annorum fuisse promissam occurrere impetravit. Phaeton statim petivit fieri potest currus agitare ad Solem transiens, de die in diem caelum a solis ortu usque ad occasum (vehiculum in solis plena canite, et …). Quod Deus protestatus est credere filium suum, alienum opus est, sed quod non audire. Ita, prima luce postero die, cum resurrexit puer reliquit. Sensit equos currum aureo distinctio statim manu forti et habitu aurigae Phaethontis et convertit. Per viam transire coeperunt deviaverunt sidera caelumque profundum mersa.
