Hubble Space Telescope e l’occhio dell’uomo è uscito stabilmente dall’atmosfera terrestre, che costituisce uno schermo fondamentale per lo sviluppo della vita (ci ripara da radiazioni e raggi nocivi) ma che impedisce di scrutare nelle profondità del cosmo e altri mondi.
Hubble Space Telescope è dedicato all’astronomo statunitense Edwin Hubble, lanciato nello spazio dalla Nasa (Ente Spaziale Usa), nel 1990, su un’orbita di 600 chilometri dalla superficie terrestre, ha mostrato negli anni immagini davvero mozzafiato.
Ma le aspettative legate ad Hubble Space Telescope furono però, all’inizio, parzialmente deluse; le sue immagini non erano definite, poiché uno degli specchi del telescopio, infatti, era affetto da un’impercettibile deformazione. Era, in un certo senso, come se il telescopio più atteso della storia fosse miope o astigmatico…

Thanks to Hubble Space Telescope the human eye has stably exited the Earth’s atmosphere, which constitutes a fundamental screen for the development of life (it protects us from radiation and harmful rays) but which prevents us from peering into the depths of the cosmos and other worlds.
Hubble Space Telescope, dedicated to the American astronomer Edwin Hubble, was launched into space by NASA (US Space Agency), in 1990, on an orbit of 600 kilometers from the Earth’s surface, has shown truly breathtaking images over the years.
But the expectations related to the Hubble Space Telescope were, however, partially disappointed at the beginning; his images were not defined, since one of the mirrors of the telescope, in fact, was affected by an imperceptible deformation. It was, in a sense, as if the most awaited telescope in history were nearsighted or astigmatic …
