(continua)

The Mayan prophecy, the true story (part II)
On December 21, 2012, therefore, within a few years, it transforms and transfigures from niche curiosity to global fear. But why? Who raised the prophecy from a simple boutade from astrologers to news worthy of attention at the highest levels? It all started in the US, in 1987, the year in which a new age guru, José Arguelles, had published a book entitled The Mayan factor, in which, among the various topics, there was talk of the 2012 prophecy. A cult book for a few followers, a theorem that remains in the shadows until 2009 … when it comes out on the screens “2012”, a catastrophic and catastrophic film directed by Roland Emmerich. And so the Mayan prophecy tickles the interest of the media until the boom of 2011 (you want to get closer to the fateful date, you want to ward off the ghosts of the economic crisis). Thus it becomes a sort of refrain to be repeated in an obsessive way and, perhaps, to be included also in news that have nothing to do with the prophecy itself.
But it was not over. A bomb arrived: the end of the world would have been delayed, so nothing December 21, 2012, but everything will end in 2116. But what had the Mayans really said or expected?
