Skynet, una rete da terminare? (Parte I)
Skynet e “Il sistema andò online il 4 agosto 1997…”.
No, questa volta la pay-tv non c’entra e la vicenda non riguarda neppure le telefonate effettuate con il protocollo Voip.
Skynet è infatti un rivoluzionario computer partorito dalla fervida mente di James Cameron (e dei suoi sceneggiatori). Nel film, il cui primo capitolo era stato diretto nel 1984 dal papà (anche) di Avatar e Titanic, l’ideatore della meraviglia (un innovativo processore a rete neuronica) è Myles Dyson, brillante scienziato cibernetico della Cyberdyne Systems Corporation; questi sviluppa il suo progetto prendendo le mosse da un microchip recuperato dalla pressa dove aveva “terminato” la sua avventura il robot Terminator T-800 (che nella pellicola aveva le sembianze di Arnold Schwarzenegger) un automa ben più pericoloso del Turco che giocava a scacchi…
Schwarzy era tornato indietro nel tempo per modificare il futuro; il suo scopo era infatti di uccidere la madre (e impedire quindi la nascita) del futuro capo della resistenza, che combatteva in un mondo dominato dalle macchine ai danni degli essere umani. La missione fallisce, il robot viene distrutto ma rimane incustodito un microchip che viene trovato da Dyson (nome non casuale…) e si genera quindi un tipico paradosso temporale. Quasi come la ricerca dell’ultima domanda per un computer…

“The system goes on-line August 4th, 1997…” No, this time the pay-TV has nothing to do with it and the story does not even concern the calls made with the Voip protocol. Skynet is in fact a revolutionary computer born from the fervent mind of James Cameron (and his writers). In the film, whose first chapter was directed in 1984 by the father (also) of Avatar and Titanic, the creator of the wonder (an innovative neuronic network processor) is Myles Dyson, a brilliant cybernetic scientist from the Cyberdyne Systems Corporation; he develops his project starting from a microchip recovered from the press where the Terminator T-800 robot (which in the film had the appearance of Arnold Schwarzenegger) had “finished” his adventure. Schwarzy had gone back in time to change the future; its purpose was in fact to kill the mother (and thus prevent the birth) of the future leader of the resistance, who fought in a world dominated by machines against human beings. The mission fails, the robot is destroyed but a microchip that is found by Dyson (a non-random name …) remains unattended and a typical time paradox is generated. Did you get a headache? Hasta la vista baby.
