Ma non tutti sono d’accordo sul fatto che lo scontro fra Via Lattea e Andromeda avverrà davvero.

Secondo taluni i due giganti (o gigantesse), Via Lattea e Andromeda si avvicineranno senza scontrarsi. In caso di crash, invece, le due galassie si fonderanno l’una con l’altra. In attesa di scoprire la verità, c’è già chi ha suggerito di ribattezzare la galassia gigante, che risulterebbe da questo scontro, “Milkomeda” (mix fra Andromeda e Via Lattea – Milk).

Detto che per Andromeda questo tipo di collisioni non sarebbero una novità, visto che, secondo gli esperti, già in passato la galassia avrebbe conosciuto almeno uno scontro simile, è stato ipotizzato che il nostro Sistema Solare potrebbe essere espulso per qualche tempo dal nuovo agglomerato: un evento simile, però, non dovrebbe avere effetti negativi sul nostro sistema planetario.

Ricordando, comunque, che fra 5 miliardi di anni circa, il nostro Sole, all’interno della Via Lattea,  imboccherà la via della pensione, meglio, per i futuri terrestri, cominciare ad attrezzarsi per tempo…
