Gioco del Poker un solo (?) gioco ma… sono diverse le scuole di pensiero sulle sue origini. Alcuni pensano che assomigli a un gioco persiano, altri sono convinti che derivi da un gioco tedesco dei primi ‘800 chiamato “pochen”.
Ma il gioco più vicino a quello del Gioco del Poker moderno deriva dal “poque” francese, definito all’inizio del secolo XVII in Francia e Olanda per espandersi in tutta l‘Europa e negli Stati Uniti.
La Cina
Le carte del poker dovrebbero invece derivare dalle mattonelle del domino cinese che, grazie alla scoperta della carta (dinastia sung, X secolo circa), divennero di dominio pubblico e si diffusero per tutto il Paese.
Le regole del Gioco del Poker moderno non sono però basate su un solo gioco con regole di diversi giochi, ma nel corso degli anni si è sviluppato fino a diventare quello conosciuto attualmente.
Le prime testimonianze
Le prime testimonianze (circa 1820) raccontano di partite di poker con 20 carte, dove 4 giocatori puntano su chi ha il miglior punteggio.
Dopo una cinquantina di anni arriva il mazzo “alla francese” (composto da 54 carte), con l’introduzione del colore.
Negli Stati Uniti, nei primi anni del XXI secolo, la nascita del Gioco del Poker on line, l’inserimento delle telecamere per le carte coperte, rendono il gioco del poker popolare.
Oggi e domani?
Il WSOP e il WPT approdano alla televisione satellitare e via cavo, facendo conoscere a milioni di persone il fascino e l’adrenalina del gioco del Gioco del poker.
