La medicina diventa 2.0?
Anche la medicina è entrata nell’orbita planetaria dei social network.
E proprio su Facebook, e in generale sui social network, si registra una crescita di pagine o chat dedicate al tema della salute. Secondo una recente indagine, il 23% degli intervistati userebbe “spesso o sempre” forum e blog, come strumento di ricerca di informazione medica, mentre il 5% utilizzerebbe appunto Facebook.
Per fare chiarezza ed evitare pericolose sbandate, oggi in Italia sono circa 600 i siti Web che hanno ottenuto la certificazione Hon-Code che è, in soldoni, un codice realizzato dalla fondazione “Health On The Net” (“Salute nella Rete”) ed è rivolto ai siti web che si occupano di medicina e salute. Stabilisce alcune linee guida etiche e qualitative allo scopo di garantire un’informazione il più possibile corretta, imparziale e trasparente. Tale certificazione è raccomandata per la pubblicità in materia di informazione sanitaria, dalla “Federazione Nazionale Ordini Medici Chirurghi e Odontoiatri”.
Sempre in tema di medicina 2.0, già da 2009, inoltre, sono disponibili le “direttive” per applicare l’Hon-Code alle community on line, offrendo dei criteri atti a identificare, per esempio, quali siano i contenuti che, effettivamente, sono redatti da medici o altri operatori sanitari e quali, al contrario, siano opinioni espresse dagli utenti. Questo, perché, quando si ricercano informazioni mediche sui motori di ricerca (per così dire generici), i risultati non aiutano a capire né la rilevanza né l’affidabilità della fonte.

Medicine has entered the planetary orbit of social networks too.
And on Facebook, and in general on social networks, there is a growth of pages or chats dedicated to the theme of health. According to a recent survey, 23% of respondents would use “often or always” forums and blogs, as a tool for researching medical information, while 5% would use Facebook.
To clarify and avoid dangerous skids, today in Italy there are about 600 Web sites that have obtained the Hon-Code certification that is a code created by the foundation “Health On The Net” (“Health in the Net”) and is aimed at websites that deal with medicine and health. It establishes some ethical and qualitative guidelines in order to guarantee the most correct, impartial and transparent information possible. This certification is recommended for advertising in the field of health information, from the “National Federation of Medical Orders and Surgeons”.
Also in terms of medicine 2.0, since 2009, moreover, the “directives” are available to apply the Hon-Code to online communities, offering criteria to identify, for example, what are the contents that, indeed, are written by doctors or other health professionals and which, on the contrary, are opinions expressed by users. This is because, when seeking medical information on search engines (so-called generic), the results do not help to understand either the relevance or reliability of the source.
