Tablet che non temono l’acqua: magari li avrete già visti sul bordo della vasca da bagno o di una piscinetta: sono i libri di gomma per bambini che, con semplici e simpatiche figure colorate, allietano il bagnetto o i primi tuffi dei vostri figli o nipotini. Ma per chi volesse sentirsi un lettore acquatico a tutti i costi (e scorrere le pagine “vere” di classici e best seller), ecco arrivare una novità da Oltremanica: un libro da piscina, da spiaggia, vasca idromassaggio e (perché no?) anche da doccia. Si tratta di un normalissimo libro le cui pagine, però, sono ricoperte da una speciale sostanza, una specie di cera sigillante, 100% waterproof. Pare che la tecnica sia già conosciuta agli Antipodi, in particolare in Australia; nel Paese dei canguri, infatti, sarebbe stata usata per allungare la vita alle banconote (evidentemente i dollari australiani soffrono di reumatismi da umidità…).
Dopo l’e-book è in arrivo, dunque, il wax-book, ma i più attenti ricorderanno un antesignano di questo “acqua libro” risalente al 1987, quando Roberto d’Agostino (oggi “guru” del sito Dagospia), reduce dai fasti di “Quelli della notte”, pubblicò per i tipi i Mondadori un libro galleggiante, disegnato da Angelo Bucarelli e materialmente realizzato da un produttore di salvagenti. Il titolo, in vero stile piscina, era “Libidine”…

It seems that the technique is already known in the Antipodes, in particular in Australia; in the country of kangaroos, in fact, it would have been used to extend the life of the banknotes (maybe Australian dollars suffer from humidity rheumatism …).
After the e-book, then, the wax-book is coming, but the most attentive will remember a forerunner of this “water book” dating back to 1987, when Roberto d’Agostino (today “guru” of the Dagospia site) from the glories of “Quelli della notte”, he published for Mondadori a floating book, designed by Angelo Bucarelli and materially realized by a manufacturer of life preservers.
