Questa della roulette è la storia vera… Sulla carta d’identità di questo gioco, sinonimo di casinò e gioco d’azzardo compare, nel campo della data di nascita, l’anno Domini 1657.
E all’anagrafe si legge, nella qualità di papà, il nome di “Blaise Pascal”, lo studioso francese che ha inventato il meccanismo della Roulette.
A fine ‘700, nel 1796 per la precisione, a Parigi nascono le prime sale dedicate, mentre Oltreoceano si diffonde, in particolare nello stato francofono delle Louisiana, a inizio ‘800. Da qui a Las Vegas il passo sarà davvero breve…
Nel 1852, il principe Carlo III Ranieri di Monaco, apre un casinò, dove la roulette la fa da padrona, per risanare le casse del Principato; dopo una partenza al rallentatore ne farà la fortuna.
Nel 1905, il gioco della pallina e della caselle, fa il suo ingresso, in Italia, al “Casinò di Sanremo”, il primo ad essere inaugurato sul suolo patrio.
Ultima frontiera, “Internet 2.0”, e “Les jeux sont faits”: la nostra sbarca sulla Rete.
