Scacco e Dama sì ma…
Scacco e Dama… matrimonio perfetto. La Dama può essere considerato il primo vero e proprio gioco globale della storia. Ne esistono infatti numerose varianti nazionali tutte, però, con un comune denominatore: essere un gioco da tavolo e di strategia.
Nella Dama i due giocatori muovono i rispettivi pezzi (pedine o dame) su un supporto, la damiera, organizzata in 64, 100 o 144 caselle (per metà scure e metà chiare) con mosse in avanti, indietro, diagonale, addirittura “saltando” (come gli scacchi con i quali è legata a filo doppio).
Tra le “mutazioni” più conosciute delle Dama,quella italiana, inglese (conosciuta come Checkers o Draughts), russa, brasiliana e spagnola.
Solo la Dama internazionale, però, con le sue regole codificate dalla Federazione Mondiale (Fmjd) permette di partecipare a campionati e tornei internazionali, come quelli organizzati per il nostro amico scacco.
Secondo ricerche effettuate, esistevano daziere e pedine in Egitto già in epoche remote.
All’epoca compresa fra il 5000 e il 2900 a. C. risale una damiera 3×6 con pedine rotonde e divisa in tre linee orizzontali, mentre altre testimonianze del gioco sono state rinvenute in Mesopotamia, Grecia, Etruria e nel mondo romano… e proprio i Romani didero scacco alla Dama? (continua?).

Checkmate, Chess and Checkers … perfect wedding. Checkers can be considered the first real global game in history. In fact there are numerous national variations, all of them, however, with a common denominator: being a board game and a strategy in which two players move their pieces (pawns or dames) on a support, the damiera or chessboard, organized in 64, 100 or 144 boxes (half dark and half clear) with moves forward, backward, diagonal, even “jumping” (like the chess with which it is tied to a double thread). Among the most known “mutations” of the Dama, the Italian, English (known as Checkers or Draughts), Russian, Brazilian and Spanish.
Only the International Checkers, however, with its rules codified by the World Federation (Fmjd) allows you to participate in international championships and tournaments, such as those organized for our friend Chess.
According to research carried out, there were deans and pawns in Egypt already in ancient times.
At the time between 5000 and 2900 a. C. dates a 3×6 sheet with round pieces and divided into three horizontal lines, while other testimonies of the game were found in Mesopotamia, Greece, Etruria and in the Roman world … and the Romans did checkmate the Checkers?
