Fine del Creato. Pare che Waters avesse sbagliato i calcoli e quindi di nuovo al punto di partenza? O no? In aiuto (?), per dipanare la matassa, arrivava un altro libro, sempre edito nel 1975 e anch’esso dedicato al calendario Maya.

Dennis e Terence McKenna ne parlarono nel loro The Invisible Landscape: Mind Hallucinogens, and the I Ching. Il volume riportava la data di scadenza del baktun 13 al 21 dicembre 2012.
Fine del Creato. Nel libro si viene messo in evidenza come tale data sia quella del solstizio invernale (per l’emisfero nord) e che in tale giorno il Sole sarebbe stato nella costellazione del Sagittario, a circa solo 3 gradi dal centro della nostra galassia. Si tratta di un fenomeno prospettico ma non per i McKenna i quali scrivevano come il punto indicante il solstizio invernale (causa fenomeno della precessione degli equinozi) si sarebbe avvicinato in quella data al punto dell’eclittica, dove la stessa avrebbe eclissato il centro galattico.
Da questo incrocio astronomico avrebbe preso il via un’epoca all’insegna del rinnovamento e della trasformazione.
L’interesse per il 2012, sopito nonostante queste rivelazioni, crebbe di nuovo nel 1987…

Year 2012 the end of the world (part V): different calculations … astronomical and galactic.
Apparently Waters had miscalculated and so we would be back to the starting point. Or not? To help (?), To unravel the skein, another book arrived, always published in 1975 and also dedicated to the Mayan calendar.
Dennis and Terence McKenna talked about it in their The Invisible Landscape: Mind Hallucinogens, and the I Ching. The volume reported the expiration date of Bktun13 to December 21, 2012.
In the book it is highlighted that this date is that of the winter solstice (for the northern hemisphere) and that on that day the Sun would have been in the constellation of Sagittarius, only about 3 degrees from the center of our galaxy. This is a prospective phenomenon but not for the McKenna who wrote that the point indicating the winter solstice (due to the precession of the equinoxes) would have approached the point of the ecliptic on that date, where it would have eclipsed the galactic center.
From this astronomical intersection. an era of renewal and transformation would begin.
Interest in 2012, dormant despite these revelations, grew again in 1987 …
