Luci in cielo: Ufo, Ifo and friends (parte I)
Luci misteriose sembrano spesso apparire nei nostri cieli e subito fanno scattare la sindrome dell’omino verde pronto a spiarci dalle profondità del cosmo e, magari, rapirci per esperimenti scientifici a bordo di un’astronave.
In attesa delle luci del primo contatto (con tanto di intervista al Tg e immancabile comparsata in un talk show) per non parlare addirittura del battesimo
vale la pena di ricordare che vari sono gli oggetti che possono trarre in inganno gli osservatori: aerei in prossimità dell’atterraggio o in fase di decollo, palloni sonda illuminati dalla luce del Sole,
satelliti artificiali con le loro luci in rapido movimento sulla volta celeste,
la stazione spaziale internazionale che sfreccia in cielo illuminata dal Sole o, infine, i pianeti più luminosi, quali Giove e Venere.
Sono tutti oggetti (con relative luci) che possono essere confusi con egli Ufo (Unidentified flyng object), ovvero “Oggetti volanti non identificati. Sono invece Ifo (Identified flyng object), quindi “Oggetti volanti identificati.

Mysterious lights often seem to appear in our skies and immediately trigger the little green man syndrome ready to spy on us from the depths of the cosmos and, perhaps, kidnap us for scientific experiments aboard a spaceship.
Waiting for the first contact (complete with an interview at television Tg and inevitable appearance on a talk show), it is worth remembering that there are various objects that can mislead observers: planes near the landing or in the take-off phase, probe balloons illuminated by the light of the Sun, fast-moving artificial satellites on the sky, the international space station (ISS) that whizzes through the sky illuminated by the Sun or, finally, the brightest planets, such as Jupiter and Venus. They are all objects that can be confused with he Ufo (Unidentified flyng object), or “Unidentified flying objects. Instead they are Ifo (Identified flyng object), therefore “Flying objects identified.
